Google Ads implementation must include remarketing. You need to use some pixels to run dynamic remarketing ads on your Shopify website. These pixels are known as Global Site Tag, Gtag, or Google Ads remarketing pixels.
Here is a short article showing how to set up and activate remarketing pixels.
Global Site Tag
If you don’t have a Shopify Plus store,
We recommend using the official Google app. Besides working very well, it is possible to follow the checkout steps. We also suggest using native integration as non-Shopify Plus stores are limited to editing payment steps.
If you have a Shopify Plus store,
You can use Analyzify for your remarketing pixels. Our Global Site Tags on GTM allow us to send more data and perform better conversions than with native integration.
If you are going to use Analyzify for your remarketing pixels, you should stop native integration and remove Global Site Tag codes from your theme files.
Activate Remarketing Tags
If you want to install and active remarketing tags with Analyzify, you should:
- NOT have an active Global Site Tag in your store
- Have an active product feed and matched ID which is connected to your Google Merchant Center
Analyzify’s GTM container is compatible with Shopify's default product ID format as follows:
shopify_US_11111111_2222222
Dynamic fields: US: Country Code, 11111111: Product ID, 2222222: Variant ID
How to Activate Remarketing Tags
Follow the necessary steps to activate the remarketing tags on GTM:
Type "Remarketing" on the search box for the related tags, or simply scroll down
Check the boxes on the left of the tags you want to activate and then click the “Unpause” button on the top-right.
Done!
